Yakushi Nyorai, also known as "Oyakushi-sama," has long been worshipped by many as he saves people suffering from various incurable illnesses.
Yakushi Nyorai is officially called Yakushi Ruriko Nyorai, and is the head priest of the Ruriko World, located far to the east of this world. Yakushi means doctor, and the reason he was given this name comes from one of Yakushi Nyorai's 12 great vows, which states, "If you hear my name, you will be cured of all illnesses and your mind and body will be at ease."
Yakushi Nyorai is typically depicted holding a medicine jar in his palm.
