This is a formal set of Buddhist prayer beads for men of the Tendai sect, crafted from unfinished ebony. The wood is finely polished in its natural state to preserve its authentic texture and showcase the elegant, subdued color and smooth grain. As you use it over time, the natural wood deepens in character, offering the charm unique to real wood.

The main bead (oyadama) features a finely engraved Bonji character representing Fudo Myo-o, affectionately known as “O-Fudo-san,” bringing a sense of spiritual virtue close at hand. The tassel is made in the durable and easy-to-handle Odama Bonten style, designed to maintain its shape over time.
