Hemp Noren Tapestry Curtain is made in Ojiya City, Niigata Prefecture, which is well known for Nishikigoi carp. The Nishikigoi design is boldly applied to a white shrunken fabric with a unique surface texture (wrinkles). The material used for Hemp Noren Tapestry Curtain is called “Chijimi Cloth” and was developed based on the ancient traditional textile “Ojiyachijimi”.
Craftsmen carefully rub the fabric in hot water to form a “yumomi” (a process of rubbing in hot water), creating a material that is beautiful to the eye and has a unique appearance.

●Care of Hemp Noren Tapestry Curtain
Wash by hand with water or lukewarm water using a neutral detergent, and hang dry in the shade.
If wrinkles appear, iron (at low temperature) with a cloth after spraying with mist to restore elasticity and make it more beautiful.
