What is “Edo Kiriko”?
Edo Kiriko is a traditional craft from downtown Tokyo that has been around since the Edo period.
The glass melts at 1350 degrees and is expertly created into a double structure of transparent and colored glass, and the skilled Edo Kiriko craftsmen carefully cut (sharpen) each glass one by one.
By cutting the glass, you can see the transparent glass inside from the colored glass on the surface, and the wonderful contrast between the transparent and colored glass stands out with traditional patterns and flower cut glass designs.
