Ojiya-chijimi is made from the finest linen material in the world.
The unique texture and crispness of Ojiya-chijimi, known as shibo, are achieved through a meticulous process called yumomi, in which the fabric is carefully loosened in hot water. The delicate balance of factors such as yarn thickness, weave structure, the twist of the weft threads, and starching results in the creation of intricate and beautiful shibo, completing the Ojiya-chijimi fabric.

A woven textile is born from each individual warp and weft thread.
Weavers cherish their work as if it were their own child, carefully crafting each piece to create textiles imbued with warmth and human touch. Any color and any pattern can shine infinitely, brought to life by skilled artisans.
Linen products are dyed in a dyeing workshop in Niigata using traditional techniques, all done by hand. Experienced craftsmen meticulously and carefully carry out each process.
Through stages such as design, stencil carving, resist paste application, hand-painted yuzen dyeing, steaming, and tenter finishing, the Linen Noren Tapestry comes to life with a beautiful and rich expression.
