◆What are the Four Gods (Shijin)? ◆
In ancient China, lands protected by divine spirits were called "Shijin-souou no Chi" (Four Gods' Harmonious Land). In feng shui, such locations are considered the most auspicious and ideal places to live.
The Four Gods (Shijin) are the guardian deities that rule over the four cardinal directions:
Blue Dragon (Seiryu) – East: Brings success, career advancement, and wealth.
White Tiger (Byakko) – West: An incarnation of the moon goddess, it ensures household safety, fertility, and safe childbirth.
Vermilion Bird (Suzaku) – South: Repels misfortune and hardship, bringing peace and good fortune.
Black Tortoise (Genbu) – North: Protects against illness and promotes health and longevity.
The Power of Stones
◆ Natural Crystal (Quartz) ◆
Quartz, also known as crystal, is a mystical, transparent stone that has long been believed to ward off evil.
It is recognized as Japan’s national stone (symbolic gemstone) and is also considered one of the Seven Treasures in Buddhist tradition.
Quartz is said to have the power to repel negativity, purify everything, and bring good fortune.
◆ Onyx ◆
Onyx is believed to have the power to dispel negative thoughts and evil energy, while also providing clarity and rational thinking.
It is also said to enhance perseverance and strengthen willpower, helping individuals move forward in life.
Known as the "symbol of success," onyx is considered a stone that supports determination and helps one achieve their goals without giving up.
◆ Hematite ◆
Hematite has a unique property—when ground into powder, it turns red. Because of this, it has long been believed to have beneficial effects on blood circulation.
In ancient Rome, hematite was thought to have strong hemostatic (blood-staunching) properties. Warriors would rub this stone on their bodies before going into battle, believing it would grant them the protection of the war god Mars and help them survive injuries and return safely.
Hematite is also said to strengthen willpower and enhance resilience in competitive situations, making it a powerful stone for achieving success.
