This formal Jodo Shinshu-style Juzu is designed for men, featuring matte-finished natural ebony and Dragon Vein Agate—a stone known for its mystical dragon-scale patterns.
The “Mikan-dama” shape of the ebony beads provides a bold, masculine impression.
Each bead is finished using a “Subiki” (natural polishing) technique, which involves no coating or varnish—only fine polishing—to highlight the wood’s natural grain, texture, and fragrance. This method can only be achieved with exceptionally high-quality wood.
The Dragon Vein Agate (Ryūmon Menō) used as accent beads is said to naturally form dragon-like scale patterns within the stone, and has been prized since ancient times as a symbol of divine energy and good fortune.
In ancient China, it was believed that those who possessed Dragon Vein Agate would have their wishes fulfilled, as the stone was thought to embody the mystical power of dragons.
