Regarding Refill Compatibility:
The pen is initially equipped with an OHTO C-305 refill. Once it runs out, it can be replaced with a Pelikan rollerball refill, which is compatible.
Please use Pelikan rollerball refills when replacing the ink to ensure long-lasting use.

Maki-e is a traditional Japanese lacquerware technique in which designs are drawn with lacquer, and while still wet, metal or colored powders are sprinkled over the surface to create patterns. The lacquer acts as an adhesive, and since gold powder is often "sprinkled" (maku in Japanese), the technique is called Maki-e.
Historically, Maki-e has been cherished both in Japan and internationally as a unique traditional craft with no equivalent abroad. One of the oldest examples can be found among the treasures of the Shōsōin Repository, which includes a sword decorated using this technique.
In modern times, silk-screen printing technology allows for the reproduction of identical patterns. However, the process of sprinkling metal powder remains unchanged, and each piece is still crafted by artisans using traditional hand techniques.
This product is created using the Kinga Maki-e (gold Maki-e) technique.
